Adam Shapiro, Licensed Acupuncturist and Certified Massage Therapist - serving the San Francisco Bay Area with customized blends of the 5-branches of Traditional Chinese Medicine: Acupuncture, Acupressure, Herbal Therapy, Nutrition, and Qi Gong
Acupressure is a general term for massage based on the ancient Eastern principles of Yin-Yang, Meridian, and Five Element theories… as well as the concept of Qi as a universal energy. I practice Tui Na and Jin Shin Do, two forms of acupressure, and mix them with the subtle yet powerful Cranial-Sacral therapy:

Chinese Massage (Tui Na)
a truly therapeutic form of massage aimed at reducing pain and restoring mobility while energizing the whole body. Tui Na uses a multitude of hand techniques and body movements that loosen tissue and free blockages, as well as stretch and strengthen your muscles and bones.

Jin Shin Do Acupressure
using your hands, much like an acupuncturist uses needles, to stimulate or sedate key points that help to regulate the energetic (Qi) workings of the body.

Cranial-Sacral Therapy
the Cranial Wave is perhaps the deepest rhythm of the body, pumping cerebral-spinal fluid to nourish the Central Nervous System. Balancing this flow frees the body and nourishes the soul.

Acupressure is especially good for the following conditions:
  1. Musculoskeletal disorders such as joint pain, neck & shoulder tension, and back aches
  2. Headaches and migraines due to muscular stress and tension
  3. Abdominal pain and discomfort including digestive disorders and menstrual pain
  4. Insomnia and other spiritual disorders such as anxiety and depression
  5. Beauty and overall wellness
  6. and for when you just don't want to be stuck with needles!
